I’ve been searching for a new job for the past 6-7 months with no luck, so when I received an email back a day or two after applying asking me follow up questions, I got very excited. In the email the hiring manager said in order to get to know me better he’d like me to answer a few questions — what I’m most interested in about the job, what’s not in my resume that I want to share, etc. Before I get my hopes up, which I tend to do, is it common to ask applicants follow up questions, or could he actually be interested in me?
