Boss keeps physically threatening me if I don’t agree with him. Stay at job, contact HR, or quietly find a new job.
A little background, I’m an engineer at a small company. So my boss threatens me whenever I don’t agree with him. This isn’t about agreeing with work things, it’s about trivial stuff. For example, we were talking about hunting and I was saying that I was going to make a safari rifle in a certain caliber. He did not agree with the caliber and became so irate when I wouldn’t change my mind about how I wanted to build the rifle that he threatened to “take me out and kick me to the curb”.

Anyways, I was threatened today over something almost as trivial and I’m pretty done with it. I’m, not actually scared of him, I do think there’s at least a 20% chance of him lashing out but I’ve been in fights before so I don’t actually care about that. I’m mostly sick of just being threatened by him and not really being able to say anything back since he’s my boss.
I’ve never dealt with HR so I guess I don’t know if they’ll just do damage control for the company and defend him. I’m also unsure of finding a new job with Covid uncertainty. I don’t have much experience since this is my first professional job.
