I've worked for a corporate company (~500 employees) for the last 7 years. Full on HR department and very structured corporate heirarchy.
I made a career change and am finally doing professionally what I studied in college 10 years ago (Graphic Design and some Web Development).
This company is definitely in startup phase. Out of the 8 full time employees 3 of them are "C level" and I'm really the only one on the books as a non commission based position. It's very casual, almost too casual, no need to clock in and out, more of a just get your work done. Have received very little direction but have received good feedback. No HR to speak of at all. Time off system / benefits are not even set up. Work I have been doing has been for the multiple ventures that the C level guys have going on, logos / presentation decks etc etc. I'm using my own equipment so would love to transition to a partial WFH type position.
Is this what a start up company environment is? anything I should look out for / be aware of? I'm extremely grateful to finally get my foot in the door in the industry I studied to get into so want to make the best of it.
