As the title reads- I'm waiting for my results. I'm expecting to pass my Computer and Digital Forensics degree with a 2:2 or 2:1, but don't think we get results until next month. I'm pretty low on cash, I'm estranged from my family so I cannot rely on them.
What is the best approach, given the current world situation?
What I have done so far:
- I religiously check Linkedin, indeed, reed etc multiple times per day- sorting by posted that day and then by most recent (so I essentially look at ALL new postings before closing the site)
- I apply to any job that doesn't have an annoying experience requirement
- All my applications are tailored, I include cover letters with each and pour my soul into it- highlighting my skills, transferrable skills from a past job, how certain aspects of my studies highlight capabilities etc etc.
- I know a bunch of niche Digital Forensic job sites, but the vast majority of them require a full driving license- which is a real gut punch after sinking three years into the degree. So I'm not really having much luck in that area, hence applying to everything right now.
- The Uni is doing some online careers advice sessions starting later today and running throughout the next two weeks- I've booked a few of these sessions. Not sure if they will help at all, but better than being idle.
I started aggressive job hunting three weeks ago, but have only had a single company actually respond to me- and that was practically a training scam. What should I be doing? Should I be holding off until I can actually tell employers that I'm a 'certified graduate', maybe that will improve my odds? Everyone will be in the same position right now, no doubt, but I don't really know how to proceed.
I'm quite worried of what might happen if my bank hits zero and I've still not found anything.
