I was promoted and given a raise that has only been verbally confirmed. The date this increase takes effect is uncertain because my company has had to make cutbacks during the pandemic.
I'm filling out the job app for a new role that HireRight is checking, and I'm unsure what to write under "pay history." I don't want to lowball myself by writing the current salary OR look deceptive if I write the new number I earned but haven't technically received (paystubs or whatever they use to check wouldn't reflect it). What would you do?
