Need Help Finding a New Job. Any Ideas for a small town?

Like the title says, I’m looking for a new job. I’m about a year off from graduating with my Associates in Computer Information Technology. I am hopefully getting my A+ cert in the next few weeks. I have some MOOCs completed on my own. I’m in the National Guard in my State. I have worked some as a freelance writer. My main background is in security. I live in a small town and would like some tips on some places to look. Preferably some places that’ll let me do IT stuff. I’ll also consider some writing gigs, but I’d really rather stick to traditional full time employment.

That’s about the gist. I’ll dive deeper below.

So, I don’t mean to sound whiney; it’s just that my job has been a major stressor in my life and has severely impacted my mental health. It’s an easy job. Super easy with a decent paycheck to boot. But there’s no upwards mobility, it’s mind-numbingly boring, and I just hate it. I can’t see myself doing it for much longer before I lose it. I’m full of ambition and ready to go! And this job is crushing my hopes and dreams. There’s nothing for me here, but I feel trapped and the stability of my mental health has taken a nosedive. I get overwhelmed easily, I’m tired all of the time, I’ve lost motivation to do things, and I’m extremely on edge. I don’t know what these things are a symptom of, but I don’t expect to find an answer for that here.

I’ve been searching for jobs, but there really isn’t a huge market for IT guys without certs or a completed education. I’ve tried and tried, but without fruit. With that being said, I’m motivated to keep trying if anyone has anything to suggest.

I do plan on getting my A+ soon and that might yield something. However, like I mentioned above, my drive to go after things like that on my own has been practically eliminated. I’m trying to force myself, but it’s been difficult to study. I think changing to a job that’s better for me would be the kick in the pants I need.

I’ve done some self-paced courses on various platforms. I’ve also completed some relevant college coursework, I’m right on the cusp of completing my A+, and I’ve played with this tech for a long time now, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that I’d probably be able to do the entry-level work. The issue lies in getting an employer to give me the time of day.

Thank you for any help that you give. I know this is a professional subreddit about work and I intend to look for professional advice, but please know that I’m also asking for personal advice on anything that you might deem relevant.
