I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Here's the timeline of events:
August 2015: My senior year of college begins. I start a part-time internship at company A that's meant to last until May 2016, which is when I graduate.
February 2016: I receive and accept an offer from company B. I tell my manager at A that I plan to go to B after graduation.
May 2016: My internship at A ends, and I graduate college. I start working at B in a couple months.
Now (April 2020): I receive and accept an offer from company C. My background check is currently in progress. I just checked the status today, and it shows that company A (where I did my part-time internship during school) said I left voluntarily but I'm NOT eligible for rehire. The background check report says they were unable to give a reason as to why I'm ineligible.
So, now I'm freaking out. As far as I know, I didn't leave on bad terms. If my manager was dissatisfied with my performance, he didn't tell me -- which is understandable, since we both knew I was moving on to another company after graduation anyway. Is there anything I should do right now? Or just wait for company C to ask me about it?
