Should I email the recruiter after our phone interview last Wednesday? Or take this as a rejection?

I had a interview last Wednesday and I thought it went good. They said I would be contacted next week and I haven’t heard anything. Usually when this happens I just take it as a rejection since recruiters never have told me they moved on. This job is something I wanted so I’m overthinking.
