Hi all. So I got a phone interview a couple days ago where the first question the interviewer asked was what my current salary at my job was. I was thrown aback that this was the first question, and let the interviewer know that I thought that we should revisit this question later on in the interview process since I'm not really comfortable answering without knowing about the job. The interviewer got a little aggressive and said things like how it would be a waste of time for the interviewer if we continued, and that theres over 20 people applying for the same job and they couldn't offer me what I was looking for. I told the interviewer I understood, but I wasn't comfortable answering it without knowing about the job. Eventually I just gave in and quoted what I made, at which point the interviewer's demeanor changed and they told me everything about the job. The interviewer is also aware that I work part time currently. They offered me an interview for the end of the week, which I accepted, and they told me that they would ask the manager and get back to me. A couple minutes later, the interviewer emailed me to let me know that the day they originally offered wasn't available, but they asked if I can do another day. I advised that I can't because I'm working, and offered an alternative date. I haven't heard back yet.
Do you think this is worth it? Should I follow up with the interviewer tommorow? Any help is appreciated!
