I have have been working in insurance adjusting since I was 19 for four years now. I don’t have a lot of experience other than that.. sales associate, serving, and call center work. I have been applying for any jobs that I may quality for on indeed since our contract got unexpectedly outbid a month ago and I was laid off. I tried to go elsewhere in the company, but they also lost most of their other contracts.
I feel like I should be getting more bites.. I mean I have experience in a professional office enviornment working tons of hours (sometimes 80 a week for months on end with no off days) handling sensitive information. I have not gotten a single reply other than auto rejection emails. I’ve tailored several different resumes for select jobs I was really interested in.
Maybe I’m limiting myself by only using online mediums? I’ve also done networking with my old coworkers and have leads for other things in the insurance industry, but it seems slow as a whole right now.
Does anyone know techniques that could help? Should I just start walking into places and asking managers if they need someone? I’m looking for something above minimum wage and full time.
