Former employer wants me to fill a W9

I worked for a company for a short period of time (3 months) and got fired without cause, I was working for them as a programmer.

We didn't had any formal contracts so I was working as a freelancer. I was also working remotely and I'm not a US citizen.

Today, after 9 months of getting fired, I received a W9 form from them, which seems very odd.

I'm no longer working for them and I want nothing more to do with them, why would they be sending this to me?
