Hello r/jobs , i need your help.
Paragraph for context :
21,y.o , finishing High School Maths because i've made some bad choices in life. Felt kind of lost during this past couple of years so i decided to take this year to work part time and take workshops/training programs in various areas while im studying so i can experience new possible careers.
I've always loved animals so since i knew my local zoo had some workshops who made you "ready" to work there, i went in head first, and took 2 of them : one to work with kids during school holidays and another to be an " environmental educator" aka be a zoo guide and make ppl aware of some issues regarding ecosystem conservation.
I am now on a "list" of people that they may contact starting march next year to work there BUT my true love are the actual animals, i breed exotic birds and aquatic animals since i was 16 (everything is legal dont worry) , i love to take care of them and to do the "dirty work" that comes with it so i asked how does one become a zookeeper and they said mostly , you start as a volunteer and then after you learn the ropes, you get in(or not, obviously depending on how proficient you are).
Thats where i need YOUR HELP, i've never applied as a volunteer for something, i think i should write a formal letter saying what is my experience and why i should get the position, right?
I really want this, because for the first time in years i'm passionate about a career path and i don't want to let go of this opportunity.
