How to leave service industry?

I (24 y/o) been working front of house in restaurants in Boston for about 5 years. I dropped out of university here after two years and went into restaurants because I didn’t know what else to do. I started as a hostess and am now the FOH manager at a small craft bar and kitchen. I hate working in restaurants though. I enjoy the social aspect, but mostly in terms of my coworkers. Dealing with the customers is usually a chore for me. That’s the one good thing about managing: it’s a lot easier to be hospitable when I’m not talking with the customers constantly for 10 hours a day.

I just don’t know how to get out of this industry. Boston is a ridiculously expensive city. And as a manager, or back as a bartender, I’m working around 50 or more hours a week, almost every night. On top of that, I have a wedding coming up in the next year. I’d love to go back to school or better just switch into a new job and learn by doing, but I just don’t see how it’s possible. Does anyone have any experience or advice?

I guess more than anything I just need some encouragement that it would be worth it. I’m so unhappy in this industry. It makes me feel so empty inside.
