Was recently offered an entry level non-clinical job at a hospital. Things are going great. I am getting all the screening done. I have never had any issue with a background check, and checked and saw it was completed today. I take a look and it had 2 employment verification errors as follows:
- In college, I worked as a tutor between 2017-2018 and quit because I got a better, full time job - the tutoring center told the background check company I worked there August-October of 2019 and was laid off.
- Another college job working in a call center where I worked for 2 years 2015-2017, they called the tutoring contact from above and listed the same dates of employment as the one above. They did not even call the correct number.
I'm freaking out thinking they will withdraw their job offer. I know via the FCRA I can file adverse action but that doesn't mean they will keep their job offer on the table. But with thousands of employees using this same background check, surely mistakes and discrepancies have happened to others and on other background checks? I have W-2s and already went ahead and requested my records from the university's HR department.
I think where I messed up was I didn't put the university's HR contact number for both of these jobs, I put contact info for my managers at those jobs. But not sure how they could mess up my working dates this bad.
Anyone have any feedback or experience with this?
