Hey everybody,
I am looking for a bit of advice. I have recently been interviewing for a position I am very excited about. It is in the field I hope to build my career and combines aspects of my education with my pre-college job experience. My interviews thus far have gone wonderfully, and I am certain I will be extended an offer.
However, I am certain that there will be a preemployment background check. I was convicted of robbery 5 years ago (robbed a drug dealer). I do not want this to bar me from employment.
My question is, when is this best time to disclose this? How would you as an HR manager react to this disclosure if it was before the background check?
