I have been interviewing for jobs. While my experience is good, I think my personality is a huge set back. I am friendly, but I'm not terribly outgoing or bubbly. I've been trying my best to prepare for interviews, but I hate feeling that I am trying to force myself to be different than what I really am, or that I am not engaging enough for interviewers. I feel that I have to be "on" during my job hunt at all times and it's exhausting. I know most of the jobs I'm applying to I'm qualified for and can do, I just wish employers can see that. I know that "fit" is important for a lot of places, and that I may be turning people off because I don't appear friendly enough.
I'm also trying to go out to more career and networking events, but they can be pretty intense sometimes.
If you've been through the same, how did you combat this?
