I was just rejected from a job I really wanted and it just magnifies all my insecurities about being incompetent. How on earth do you get a job starting out after university when you have very little work experience?

(For clarification, I have a BA in psychology, yes it's useless I know, I guess my options are to get some basic af office job at best with it)

I got the email about being rejected quite fast, so I assume they looked at my CV and were like 'lol no, she's hopeless, next candidate', which I guess is fair, there's not much worthy on my CV, but I .. really thought I tried my best and that I could have brought value to them. I guess my cover letter was dumb too. Idk I'm just venting and sad.

But like, what can I do if I didn't work much throughout university? I know, I was stupid, I wasted so many opportunities to get experience, but what now?

The only chances I see is that I might get lucky and some company who urgently needs to hire settles on me, probably a shitty company with high turnover rate at that, or I'll just go and work some shitty fast food job and I'm gonna die of shame and hate myself.

What do you think? Have you been in a similar situation? How did it turn out?
