My old job closed down for repairs and I am not sure if it will reopen anytime soon. I applied to a similar business and they asked if I signed a non-compete agreement. I remember signing a contract at my old job, but I don't remember if it contained a non-compete agreement, and my old boss has not returned my calls for several months. I don't think I have a copy of that contract.
How should I go about this? I'm worried about taking the job and then discovering there was a non-compete agreement and getting in trouble from it.
