Need some advice. About 7 weeks ago I asked for a transfer to a different department in my company (it's a mixture of wanting that department for the long term and my current boss being an ass). For 6 weeks they did nothing but say "Ah we're looking into it don't worry". Last week I got fed up and applied for the role I want in a different company out of anger after an argument with my boss. Yesterday, my current HR personnel called me up to say they have a plan to make the transfer happen but can't give me a fixed timeline yet. I asked to have a rough idea by the end of the week, they agreed.
Get back to my desk and there is an email from the company I interviewed with saying they will send me offer details tomorrow (so today). Ideally, I'd prefer to stay with my current company but in the other department. Question is, once the offer is received should I tell HR about it to try hurry things along or politely decline and say nothing to HR?
