I have experience in the restaurant business and in retail. I have never had trouble getting hired by the locations I applied to. However, recently it is taking me much longer than usual to find a new employer after returning to my home town. I want to make sure I am using the current etiquette for applying to jobs. I have applied online to numerous places, which is better, to call and ask to speak to a manger and let them know that I applied online and would like to follow up and request an interview, or to show up to stores and ask for a manger and bring them a copy of my resume? I also need tips about having a great interview. Again, I have never had a problem with this but recently maybe an increase in anxiety due to stress has impacted me. What is the bottom line I need to know to get the job, what do I need to do entering the interview to make the right impressions?
