Getting a job

Okay, here’s a question. I applied for a job two years ago when I had a job and last month when I was still unemployed. I was terminated from my last job. I had an interview last week and the guy seemed to think I still worked at said place so I went along with it. I went in today to do my paperwork and the lady told me about the background check and what not and asked if I needed to put in a two weeks notice I said yeah and told her where I “work”. My question is, will they find out I’m lying and not hire me? I’ve mad many interviews and let’s be honest it just looks better to an employer for a job seeker to already have a job compared to being unemployed. Thanks for any of the feedback!
