I've been going through somewhat of a long interview process and I would appreciate some outside insight as to whether or not I'm being strung along, or really the status of me as a candidate for the job.
I applied for this job and first heard back from Person A to schedule a phone interview on 2/6. We agree to schedule the phone interview for 2/8; this call goes well.
On the same day, 2/8, Person A lets me know they want me to come in for an in person interview with the team. It was also established in our call that this in person interview will be the last round of interviews. We set the in person interview for 2/13.
The in person interview goes well and I end up meeting with 5 people. During the interview I let them know that I am currently interviewing elsewhere and anything they can do to expedite the process would be appreciated.
2/14 I get a call from Person B who I met during the in person interview telling me that they're interested in me, but they have a few more interviews coming up and wanted to keep me updated on the process, since they know I'm interviewing elsewhere. The expectation is that they should reach out in the next week or so with an update.
2/28 comes around and I get a call from Person C, asking if I have any updates on my other interviews, making sure I'm still interested, asking me to confirm my salary expectations, and telling me they're anticipating making a decision by 3/6.
Today, 3/7 I get a call that they're still interviewing and it should be another few weeks until they have a decision due to difficulty in scheduling some of their other interviews. They also want me to have an additional call in the next few days with the highest ranking person I met with on 2/13; who would be Person D.
Am I crazy or does it seem like I'm being strung along? On the one hand I know they wouldn't keep updating me if they didn't like me; but on the other hand if they liked me that much they would have hired me by now.
Again, would love some other perspectives on this.
