After a month and a half of unemployment, going through the draining process of job hunting, sending out CVs & resumes, interviews, and a few rejections, I finally landed a job that's nearby, has great benefits, more than adequate pay, is in line with what I want for my career path, etc.
It all seems too good to be true and this time, I really want to make it work. I've had 3 jobs in the past 3 years; the first two I stayed for a year and a few months and the most recent one for only 6 months.
Though my reasons for leaving my previous work was valid, I felt that it definitely hurt my job interviews because employers often questioned or wondered why I quit when I was promoted twice.
This time, while job searching, I tried my best to make sure the company I would be with was going to have not just adequate pay and benefits, but also had a good work environment and culture, and I think I found that with my new job.
Now, the problem is learning how to actually make it past one year, possibly, for at least 3-5 years with the same company. I think my problem is that I get bored and sick of routines quickly. I dislike the monotony of working at the same desk, same time, 5 days a week, doing the same thing with the same people.
At times, I can also get irritable when coworkers don't know when to give me space or are inconsiderate of me and other employees in the same position, considering the job requires focus and silence (although a good pair of earphones fixes that). But I feel that it's my dislike and at times, annoyance of monotony that's my biggest hurdle in being a long-term employee.
Any tips? I'm willing to give it a shot
