I work full time at a large enterprise company. Multiple times a month, third party Partners of my company will come in and provide lunch while we sit and listen to their spiel about why we should use their services.
Technically I’m not salary because I still fill out a timecard. My question is am I still entitled to my own lunch break outside of this session? Yes, the Partners provide food, but it’s not a break by any means since we have to sit through long presentations and have to engage the Partners themselves with questions and ideas, so it feels more like a big team meeting.
