Sketchy Advertising and Marketing Jobs

Is it just me or doesn’t it seem like there’s thousands of marketing and advertising jobs out there but then when you research the companies they look like major scams? I recently got called to interview for a marketing job in SC and when I looked the President on linkedin he went from working construction to becoming a president of the company in 6 months with zero background in marketing or advertising. I was just curious if anyone else noticed all these sketchy job posting and if you have any tips on finding legitimate jobs in this industry since the career center for my college has been less than helpful in helping me find a job.
