I got a call back today for a Financial Advisor job at Edward Jones I applied to a few days ago. Admittedly, I only skimmed the job description because I'm putting out apps rapidly (need a post-grad job ASAP). I know this is bad practice but let's please put that aside for now..
Anyways, the guy I spoke with invited me to schedule an interview for the Financial Advisor Career Development Program, and mentioned sales several times. He mentioned that this wasn't like most 'Financial Advisor' roles where you're essentially just a commissions-only salesman, rather, you get several months of paid training before doing any selling & receive a salary after training/licensing. I believe him because..well, it's Edward Jones.
Am I naive here? Has anyone done this program with EJ? What was your experience? Any thoughts or stories are appreciated!
