Okay so I accepted a job in a linen factory last Thursday. He asked me when I could start and I told him Tuesday. Last night I went to the ER with the flu and the doctor told me that I shouldn’t be around or work for about 4 days. It is a M - T work week at the job. I called him today (Monday) and asked him if it would be okay if I pushed my start date back until next Monday to get over this stuff. He sounded upset and said “call me Wednesday.” I asked him if I still had a job and he replied, “ just call me Wednesday and we will go from there. It looks bad when you accept a job and then don’t take it.” Then he hung up the phone. I called him back and apologized and told him I could get a note from my doctor and he said, “just call me Wednesday.” What should I do and what are the odds I will even still have a job?
