Opinion on applying directly to a company just after applying through recruiter?

Earlier today I sent a CV and cover letter through a jobs site to a recruitment agency. I've since found the same job with the same description on a different jobs site which was posted by the company itself. The recruitment agency hasn't come back to me yet (it's only been about an hour) but my experience with recruiters hasn't been great so far, in that I find myself being fobbed off by them before even sending CVs. That has me concerned that my CV won't reach the company through the recruiter, but if they do send it on the company would then get it twice which might then look bad that I'm just applying to everything I see. Not sure what to do - is it a good or bad idea to apply again directly to the company?
