My boss hired me to be a leader in the organization but won’t let me lead. How should I handle this situation and continue working with the company.

Started a new job a few months ago. I was referred to her by a former colleague. We met she loved me and my years of experience. I left my old job where I was unhappy and now I’m miserable STILL. We started off great. I’m a leader, that’s what she wanted ( or so she said). I have a ton of connections and knowledge about the field we’re in so once I started, I really started. I had a ton of ideas. I’m not sure if I came off too strong, too confident, too pushy but she’s been pushing back on EVERYTHING! I’m extremely humble, yet confident in my abilities. I’m not a pushover nor am I the one that will agree with you on everything but I do respect my superiors and allow them to be great. She’s been pulling away my responsibilities and autonomy little by little everyday. I watch in cringe as her and my colleague work on projects that are so easy yet made so hard and lengthy due to their lack of skill sets. Boss is a great visionary, she’s horrible with practice, processes and procedures. Colleague isn’t tech savvy or organized and not familiar with a lot of things. Things I know like the back of my hand. I make a suggestion...It’s shut down but then I overhear them eventually taking my advice.

I don’t know how to work like this. She’s not letting me do anything I was hired to do. She literally pushes back on everything. Tells me to do something, I do it, it’s never done good enough. I don’t wanna make it about race but...damn sure feels like she has a superiority complex. Anyone else have a similar experience???
