Luckily I am starting to freelance now, which saved me, but I’m confused about a particular interaction I had with a major TV channel after being laid off and unemployed for months. I had a phone interview and two long in person interviews. I thought they all went great and I really wanted the job. At the end of my final interview, the head of the department said he loved me as a candidate and he would push HR to get me an offer by the end of the week (48 hours).
That was a month ago. Follow up emails to the corporate hiring manager have gone unanswered. I get ghosting happens but it’s really a bizarre way to handle the situation. I almost didn’t take this freelance role because I thought I got this job. Is there anything I can or should do at this point - I’m literally tempted to reach out to the people I interviewed with on LinkedIn or something. I know hiring at big companies can be sloooow, but I should just assume it’s never gonna happen, right?
