Hi All--
I'll keep this short. So far, I've signed the job offer, completed my medical screening and drug test (I did the drug test a week ago, and I have not heard back re: results, but it should be fine). I requested a copy of my background verification and it showed two discrepancies:
- It noted that my start date did not match one of my listed jobs. As soon as I saw that, I decided to call HR to clarify that I was a contractor and then I became permanent employee, so my time as a permanent was only reported by the respective HR dept . I had the same job duties, but assumed a PM title once I became a permanent employee-- I was formerly a project coordinator title. In my resume, I grouped it all as PM, as my job duties really did not change and I was a PM by all means, which can be verified by my old boss.
- I put that I was a PM in my current role, but was verified by my current employer that it was should be read as analyst. However, the scope of my work was to manage many projects across different stakeholders. Truthfully, I can see why this would be construed as an embellishment, but the project tasks and duties at hand can be verified, and the distinction in the job title was to show how expansive my current role grew.
For those within the HR field or have worked with these third-party reviewers, is this sufficient grounds for rescinding an offer? I have a history with the hiring manager of working directly with them, and was personally recruited.. I'm hoping that will bode well.
Thanks everyone..
