For those for made the jump from lowly admin or as “foot-solider” in your field to a team leader manager position. What advice do you have?

I’m about to apply for a manager position and while I’ve done all I can up to date to be a model employee and showcase my ability to be a manger through my work ethic, as well as getting involved in projects and helping when needed. I am wondering what else can be done to make this jump successfully? Is it worth doing some management courses online to further add to my arsenal, or is it all in how I come across in my interview?
