It seems like a large percentage of the population has at least 2 jobs to me. They run the gamut from low skill workers with just a high school diploma to people with professional certificates, licenses and bachelors degrees. These are some examples from people I know personally:

Sworn court officer on the day shift and works part time as a security guard in the evenings. He has a criminal justice degree.

Facilities maintenance technician during the day and does truck deliveries overnight with his CDL.

IT Support Specialist with his A+ and Net+ Certs who also works at the Gap overnights.

Works for the city government 6-3 and drives for Lyft when he gets off.

High School math teacher who works in the produce department of a grocery store for 4 hours every evening after class.

Director position at a health facility who bar tends on Friday and Saturday nights. I could go on and on.
The reasons for doing this between them varies. A couple of them NEED the money, I'm talking stretched thin, 2 kids, high as fuck mortgage, baby on the way type stuff, so the choice is made for them. Another few don't "need" the extra money per say, but they'd rather have it than not. I'm counted among this multi-job group as well. The reason I do it is because I just don't trust these employers. You can be here today and gone the next and if you don't have some sort of very in demand skill that you can leverage to get a new job quickly if you need to, it just seems like a good idea to diversify your income stream in this manner. There's not really a point here, just something I was thinking about recently. Interested in hearing your thoughts.
