A local business said they’d call me for an interview but hasn’t yet

I have found a great place for me to work. It’s a family-owned local garden center.

Working in a seasonal industry is hard because there’s a narrow time frame for getting hired. Also, I do these labor-intensive jobs for my health so it’s very important that I get a job. There are few good places in my field to work this year and this is the only one that has replied to my job inquiry.

I applied in mid-January and they replied to my application with this: “Thanks you for submitting your application. We will begin the hiring process for spring 2019 in early February. I’ll be back in contact with you at that time to schedule an interview.”

We’re creeping towards mid-February and I haven’t heard anything. At what time is it too early or late to call or email back? Or would that be too thirsty?
