So this is a little different.
We have candidates onsite for a directors position at my job. Today is the open forum day, where we can ask all sorts of questions.
Our last director didn’t do much work, and let one of the leads take over and run the show. It’s terrible. This lead hoards work, and doesn’t give any room for opportunity, or growth. We aren’t allowed to have any input when it comes to policies. Quite frankly she constantly tells us “we have no authority” over whatever matter we’re discussing that day.
I want to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I’m wondering if you all can help me come up with an interview question for the candidates regarding how they deal with difficult supervisors/leads. And how they would be an advocate for their staff? The Director would be the leads supervisor.
Not sure if I should out right ask, or make a situational question.
