Hello everyone. I am 25 years old guy pursuing my masters degree in geomatics from IIT . I am gay and I have decide to move out from this place. GIS and remote sensing technology is in demand right now so career vise I think I can get good opportunities. So I was looking for jobs outside India and it is disheartening to know that most of them require 2 to 5 years of experience in the relevant field. I really want to move out from this place so that I can have a better life. I am in love with a Filipino guy and I really want to be with him. I have been looking for opportunities but now I am depressed because of this issue. I really don't want to spend 2 to 3 years here in India to get the relevant experience. Other mean is to get admission in an institute outside India but I am not sure if I want to do it as I am already doing my masters degree and studying outside means applying for PhD. I am in no mood to do PhD as of now and I don't have the funds either to sponsor my education. I am up to doing odd jobs as well till I get the one I wanted but I guess I won't be getting a visa unless I have a job offer. Though homosexuality is not criminal anymore but still people can't be open in public. Mocking, name calling are common here. They can kick you out or not give you job or an apartment if the employer or owner knows about sexuality. I am so done with hiding and it's killing me inside. I can't even express myself and everyday feels like a struggle. Posting here to get some direction regarding this issue. Hope I get some response regarding this. 😊😊
