Leave job for better opportunity or stay with what I know?

I have only been in my current job for just 4 months. It is extremely community based and had been vacant for awhile so I’ve built it up extremely quickly. When I accepted the position, I was working part time for pennies as I was recovering from mental health issues that previously left me unable to work. So when they offered me a low wage, I accepted. I felt and still do feel very passionate about my work, but I’m picking up a part time job to afford Christmas. My husband is starting a better job soon so I could potentially stay and our finances will still improve, but the amount of work that goes into my job has left me sorely underpaid. My only real opportunity for advancement is through my bosses position which she has discussed leaving in 5ish years, but that position is also severely underpaid. I would be making less when starting in that position (at least 5 years from now) than I would with the potential job I’m looking at now.

The position I’m looking at pays significantly more and is still very community based. We discussed how I want to grow as a professional and they offered creating a mentorship program just for me. They always promote within before promoting a position to the public and many positions are filled internally. They anticipate a new management position to be opened within the next year that I would have the opportunity to apply for. The schedule is extremely flexible and I have the freedom to set my own hours. I love the environment, I love the people I’ve met, I love the mission of the organization.

The decision sounds so obvious, but my current job has been there for me a lot. I found out I was pregnant between the interview and their offer and they were very supportive. I lost the baby a few weeks into working and had to take time off for surgery. I technically could have been let go since I was so new, but my boss went to bat for me. She has been very good to me, most of the time. She has also been hard on me at other times, mostly due to her own issues I believe. She has been better lately and more appreciative and complimentary. And many people in the office are commenting about how great I’m doing. I also teach classes throughout the community and I know those will all come to a halt without me and I feel guilty for it.

I also feel that I’ve got to think of myself as part of the community and taking care of myself. I just feel so torn. What would be your suggestion?

(I have had 2 interviews with the potential job. They said the last interview would be final, but called me 10 min after the interview to ask me to meet with the CEO next week because there are two possible positions and they want to make sure I’m happy with what I select. It’s looking pretty likely that I will get an offer, but don’t know for which. And could technically fall apart too, but I hope not!)
