I'm 31, I haven't had a job in four years. I didn't go to school during the period, but I did a number of 'under the table' jobs and sold things on eBay for cash, as well as cashing in dividend checks. So, I wasn't just doing nothing. I doubt that 'under the table jobs' could go on a application. I live with my parents, so I was able to get by. I was applying during the period and still am, but come up empty.
I also had to take care of my mom for a while and help her out/take care of her after she had a bad fall (fainted and hit her head on concrete), during the period. That was draining...
How do I get past this question in a job interview? It is inevitable it will come up. I just don't want the gap to ruin my chances.
I'm trying to get back on it and improve my life for the better.
Thanks and have a good day.
