The company I work at is outsourcing our department, we had to re apply with the new company for our positions. A little back story before the outsourcing out company restructered and were going to be offering everyone a raise and a cost of living bump. Our department was not given that bump. Now that we have gotten interviews with this new company we are tyring to negotiate our original pay bump and an additional pay bump for the new year that our old company would have given to us automactivally(part of the restructuring was to provide auto raises of 2%-3% every year). I spoke to the head of HR and they offered me my original bump that was due to me but will not give this years bump. I started negotiations prior to the offer letter being issued, I was told I would get a phone call from HR to start the process. Its been a week since that inital conversation and now I have been given an offer letter with no changes applied to it. Of course it has the usual jargen of "this offer is only valid for 2 days". What is the best way to push the topic of re negotiating the salary ?
I have been interviewing other places and the offers I've gotten have been higher than the offer I was emailed. I turned down those offers because I was told if I stayed on until the end of the year and assisted in the transition they would match my previous offer letters and provide me a months wage bonus on my final pay check.
