I was hired with a verbal promise of wage increase after training, still don't have full wage promised after 6 months, how do I proceed?
As title states, I took a job offer 6 months ago with a starting wage less than the full wage while I was in the training stages. I was told, "once you're on your own without someone beside you, we'll bump you up to the full wage."
Well it's been 6 months, I contacted the manager ~2-3 months ago via email about this and she said she "forgot" and would gradually increase my wage by 50 cents until we make it to the wage promised. I work on my own in a busy clinic and have been since 3 weeks into my job. I have asked for feedback on how I am doing and everyone says I learned faster than most people and since they don't, "hear a lot of noise at this clinic, it's a sign i'm doing a fabulous job."
I spoke to some colleagues at other clinics and they stated they had the same troubles getting their promised wage but most were making the full, promised amount about 3-4 months in. At this point I'm extremely annoyed and even feel like I deserve back pay and have been searching for other jobs because it feels like I've been cheated for months. I have seen the COO twice since being hired, so an in person conversation is probably not possible and she's going to be hard to get a hold of over the holidays. I am notorious for being a pushover and just going with the flow but this is my livelihood and I feel I am entitled to the pay I was promised and back pay for that matter. How can I delicately but confidently word an email not quite demanding these things happen but make sure they do?
