What looks worse to employers: long-time unemployment or willingness to leave job early?

I've been unemployed since May and have been actively seeking work. I received an offer from a company and I'm thinking about taking it while still interviewing with other places. Should I leave a gap in my resume and just say that I've just been looking for work when they ask or should I include the new job?
