Can someone help me understand being on salary?

I am in my first salaried position. We get 2.5 weeks of vacation per year. 10 days of sick.

My understanding prior was that salaried positions come with a bit of flex time. So, I work 44 hours Mon-Thurs, I can take a half day Friday. Is my interpretation wrong? My supervisors are all over the place with it and no one can agree on if that’s ok. I suppose I’m confused because without that benefit, we’re all just hourly employees that don’t need to be paid overtime.

Are salaried positions generally more time flexible?
