Should I send a 2nd follow-up email when I know one of the recruiters is ill?

I applied for a job about two months ago. After two weeks of not hearing anything from them, I sent the department an email. I was told the applicant review process had been delayed due to an illness in the department. Fast forward three weeks, I haven't heard anything else from them. My profile on their website says my application is still with the search committee, so I know the search is still ongoing.

I don't know how serious the illness is; I didn't ask because I didn't want to seem like I was prying. But I'm getting antsy, and I'd like to know when I can expect to hear about my interview status. Should I send a second follow-up email, and when should I do it?
