Hi everyone. Please forgive me for any formatting issues, as I'm on mobile.
I'm facing a predicament right now... currently, I'm working as a temp at a well known university, but there is no promise of me going permanent after my 6 month contract is up. My coworkers and supervisors are very nice and helpful; that being said, I'm in recovery for alcoholism and there are monthly department happy hours where beer and wine are served. While no one pressures me to drink, it does make me uncomfortable.
I've also been offered a job in a healthcare facility and is temp-to-perm. The pay is a little less, but the commute is better. Since the other job is in healthcare, I won't be exposed to alcoholic beverages.
I have to make a decision by this Friday. If anyone has any advice, I'd be more than happy to read it. Thanks.
