I have a meeting with HR tomorrow, how honest should I be concerning my unhappiness?

Hello!

I am hoping you will be able to give some advice on my situation. In my finance department we have had a lot of turnover, around 12 people in 2-3 months, out of 50 person dept. HR is now meeting with every remaining employee to try and identify what the issue is and make sure we are happy. I have my meeting tomorrow.

I am not worried about being fired, our department cannot stand any one else leaving. I just don't know how honest I should be in the meeting. Are there any downsides to telling HR my big issues with the department? Below is an overview of my issues which I would like to bring up, but I don't want to end up shooting myself in the foot:

  • I moved into a new role semi-recently (this past year), however the upper management of my previous role keeps asking me to help out. It was just brought up again today.

  • My pay is not equal to my title, when I moved into the new role it was only a title change. So my salary is still associated with my previous role and title, and around 20-30K below what it should be.

  • Lack of promotions/upward movement/the company does not promote from within. Even if you do apply for an internal position, you do not get any follow up or interviews. They just pretend they never saw your application.
