I got a promising new job through a temp agency. But I'm frustrated with my recruiter's lack of communication. Are my issues valid, and how do I provide feedback?
I'll call them R from now on.
R reached out to me by only providing the job title and nothing else. I had to ask her for the shift, whether it was a short term or long term position, and the name of the company.
When it was time to fill out onboarding paperwork, R did not provide the address of the temp agency until I asked.
I didn't know what time to report in for my first day until I asked R in person, while filling out paperwork at the agency.
R didn't volunteer directions on how to log my hours. I asked my manager, who then asked the temp agency.
All this time R has requested my immediate feedback regarding whatever news they have for me.
Maybe it's a weird policy at this agency to keep their employees dangling. Maybe R is going through a difficult time and they're not doing their best work. The company R got me into is going through a lot of changes, including figuring out how to utilize my position. My manager seems upfront, the company seems close knit. Maybe it's the company that's sketchy and the agency is also in the dark. Maybe there's just lot of bad optics. But R's behavior makes me wonder if I'm getting scammed. The absent communication about my time sheet puts me over the edge. I don't want to burn bridges with the person who got me my job, but I don't trust R.
Do I have reason to worry? If so, whose ass do I light on fire? How do I phrase my need for better communication?
