Hi all,
I had a phone interview yesterday with a company for a customer support position. The job and company both seem interesting, but the base salary is lower than what I'm making now, the work schedule is later than what I'd like (which was not initially clear in the job posting), and the company is being inflexible with a follow up interview time (need 1 hour of time, in a neighbourhood that's a good 45+ minutes away from my current office, during the work day, must be in person).
All that to say, I'm not really interesting in pursuing this opportunity anymore.
Is there a good way to withdraw my candidacy without burning the bridge? I'd potentially be interested in this company again in the future. Am I expected to provide a reason for withdrawal?
I've never been in this position before, so any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
