So I'm fresh out of college and I've been working at a chain store for about 2 months. I figured I would take it just until my family got moved (we're moving to TN from New England) to pay my loans and get out of the house. So last week I got offered an MOD position (manager on duty). The manager has been hinting at it since I started, but last week was the first time she came out and asked me and I said yes. Hours got cut recently and with the holidays coming up I could use the extra hours and pay increase.
So I went into work this week and asked about my new duties. My manager doesn't want to start me on anything new until after the holidays, she says training is a pain. I've seen MODs do their jobs and I know most of the duties. Now that I know that I'd have to wait, I'm not sure it is worth it. Plus we are moving sometime in the beginning of 2019 (which the manager knows, but houses don't exactly sell quickly in this area in the middle of winter). I don't want to wait but at the same time I don't know how long it will be until I move. I'm not sure if it's worth the wait or not.
