The title may be minorly misleading,
basically my coworker said something that was extremely off putting and the situation made me extremely uncomfortable, we work in an environment with children and I have no clue what to do. They jokingly said that they were a pedophile, but they said it with such security, it wasn't until they say my expression that they tried to make up for it, and what we were talking about was serious things and not jokingly whatsoever. I think they only started saying they were joking because our manager was questioning why I reacted that way (just walked in).
I'm a seasonal and I'm getting reassured and trained for permanent position, I don't want to risk the position, but I definitely don't think a co-worker who is willing to joke in front of customers and children about being a pedophile should work there. What do I do?
I'm also very sure they have animated child porn or frequent websites with it (they hinted to it). I really don't want to get fired for causing a scene and I definitely mentioned it to a friend I have in common w/ them so I know that she'll know I said it.
