Accountant/Police Officers of NYC

Hello, I am currently interested in deciding whether or not to go to a Police officer or the Accounting. Both seem very interesting to me however, I worry that my gpa (2.7 pursuing CPA) will not qualify for many accounting opportunity. I have decided that becoming a Police officer in NYC would be my back up. I was wondering what it is actually like to be a Police officer and how it really is, also whether or not the wages are actually what they stated on their site.
